Aim and scope
To promote the understanding of the effects of domestic and institutional cleaning on indoor environmental quality. Cleaner surfaces and thus cleaner indoor air are expected to yield a more pleasant, healthier and productive environment. The activities of the workgroup will contribute to the:
a. promotion of professional cleaning
b. promotion of the national and international exchange of knowledge about cleaning
c. promotion of scientific research in cleaning
d. development of sound methods for determining cleanliness in practice and research
e. development of practical cleaning recommendations
Note: This is a planned TF.
Status
The Task Force was established during the WS7 meeting at HB2000 in Espoo, 2000. A draft document is available at www.HB2000.org. The document will be kept updated.
Future activities
The website for workshop WS7 'Cleaning for better indoor environment quality' will be preserved. It is the intention to add to the website lists of relevant meetings, publications, persons and institutes and organisations. It is planned to set up a separate web site on cleaning.
To further promote professional cleaning and the exchange of knowledge, the Task Force aims at publishing scientific papers and popular articles.
The Task Force intends to organise satellite events on cleaning during Indoor Air 2002 and Healthy Buildings 2003 and supports the Finnish initiative for internationalising the symposium Cleaning in Tomorrow's World.
