Conferences and Symposia ISIAQ has sponsored conferences in Helsinki (Indoor Air '93), St. Petersburg (Moisture Problems Workshop, 1993), Budapest (Healthy Buildings '94), Gold Coast (Indoor Air: an Integrated Approach, 1994), Oslo (Indoor Air Quality in Practice, 1995), Milano (Healthy Buildings'95), Washington (Healthy Buildings'97), Edinburgh (Indoor Air '99), Finland (Healthy Buildings 2000), and Monterey (Indoor Air 2002).
The Healthy Buildings 2003 Conference will be held in Singapore, December 7-11, 2003, and will be hosted by The Indoor Air Quality Research Unit of The Department of Building at The National University of Singapore. Dr. Tham Kwok Wai, Ph.D., will be the President of the Conference. He will be joined on the Organizing Committee, Planning and Management, by Dr S.C. Sekhar, Co-technical chair, Dr Cheong Kok Wai, Co-technical chair, Dr Wong Nyuk Hien, Treasurer, and Mr. Philip Chan, Secretary.
The conference venue is the newly opened Cultural Centre (UCC) of the National University of Singapore. It is strategically located at the main entrance of the university, inviting visitors by its grand architecture and attractive glass facade. The conference precedes Singapore's 39 th National Day celebrated on 9 August, and participants can expect to be treated to a host of multi-cultural festivities during their stay. Appropriate satellite events will provide additional reasons for international and regional participants to come to Healthy Buildings 2003 in Singapore. Indoor Air 2002 was held in Monterey, California, from 30 June to 5 July 2002. A total of 726 papers and nearly 1,100 participants have taken part in Indoor Air 2002. Abstracts are available and proceedings can be ordered at: Indoor Air 2002
Healthy Buildings 2000 was held in Espoo, Finland, with nearly 800 participants from 46 different countries. The technical content of the conference was based on 451 technical papers and posters. The website of the conferences is still available at: Healthy Buildings 2000
ISIAQ welcomes conference and symposium proposals from its membership, and invites sponsorships from interested agencies and corporations. Proposals can be passed on through International Liaisons.
